I’m so excited to welcome you into The Curl Lounge! If you’ve booked a curly hair appointment with me and want to get the very best results for your curls, a little preparation before you arrive makes all the difference.
These steps really help protect your hair, your time, and your results!

1. Arrive With Clean Hair
(Washed 24–48 Hours Before)
Please wash your hair 1–2 days before your appointment. This allows me to:
See your natural curl pattern clearly
Properly assess your scalp
Avoid heavy product build-up
Do not arrive with:
Heavy oils or grease
Thick butters
Edge control at the roots
Layers of gel
Product build-up prevents an accurate scalp and curl assessment and may mean your curly hair service cannot be carried out as planned.
2. Your Needs To Be Fully Detangled
Please arrive with detangled. This is essential for:
Protecting your curls from unnecessary breakage
Keeping your appointment on time
Making sure treatments and curly styling work properly
Detangle gently with conditioner or leave-in and work in sections. If your hair is severely matted, please contact when booking your appointment so extra time can be arranged.
3. No Heat Styling Before Your Appointment
This is A BIG ONE. Please don't straighten, silk press, or blow-dry your hair straight before coming in. Your curls need to be in their natural state so I can assess your natural and unique curl pattern for the crrect cut, treatment and styling.
4. Bring Inspiration ( totally optional)
You’re welcome to bring photos or saved styles for inspiration, but do remember your results will always be based on:
Your curl pattern
Your density
Your hair health
Not every style is achievable on every curl type, and at The Curl Lounge, curl health always comes before trends. But together we will work on a you love.
5. Avoid Tight Hairstyles Right Before Your Visit
Please don't arrive with hair in :
Slick-back styles
Tight ponytails
Fresh braids or twists
These stretch the curl pattern and affect how your curls are cut and styled.
How you wash your hair before your appointment matters. Clean hair helps your stylist see your natural curl pattern and work with your hair’s true texture.
Final Word
All of this prep is mandatory — not to be strict, but to make sure your curls get the best care possible and your appointment runs smoothly. Think of it as setting your curls up for success before they even reach the chair.
Follow these steps, arrive as your lovely curly self, and we’ll take it from there. I can’t wait to meet you, have a good chat, and give your curls the love they deserve.
Any questions just drop me a message.
